Eatontown Lions Club Golf Outing 2018: in Support of Warrior Gwennie
(2) At the Eatontown Lions Club golf outing dinner, our warrior Gwennie from Howell and the Marra family was honored  and presented with a free cruise to Bermuda by our sister charity Kick Cancer Overboard, See above photo. Here is an excerpt of KCO President Ted Friedi's comments at the dinner : " Gwennie was diagnosed in April 2013 with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. Gwennie was 16 months old when first diagnosed. Her brother Donovan was 7 and her sister Marleigh 4.
Gwennie endured more than 18 months of treatment which included chemo, bone marrow transplant, radiation and immunotherapy.
During the last couple of years Gwennie has been through the necessary follow-up testing; and she is currently cancer free.
The treatment road has been extremely physically, mentally, emotionally, & financially difficult on the entire family. Despite that , Gwennie's parents Lou & Angela have become trustees of the Frances Foundation, and they have spent countless hours on numerous events giving back to the Frances Foundation so that the Frances Foundation may help other children fighting cancer and their families. "

We are so grateful for how you helped our former bulldog, Mariam Sehar. She will be forever in our hearts. We hope you can use this money to help the many warriors fighting cancer.

You should be receiving our check in the mail soon.

Chick-Fil-A Support for the Frances Foundation 2018

Hi All

“On Tuesday, June 5th, Frances Foundation trustees and their families, as well as members of our warriors’ & angels’ families, attended the presentation of $4,000.00 donation made by the Chick-Fil-A restaurants located in Brick, Howell, Freehold Raceway Mall , and the Monmouth Mall . With a chicken nugget ( Jake’s favorite) in our hands , a toast was made to our Angel Jake the Tank from Howell, as well as to all Frances Foundation pediatric cancer warriors and angels.

These  4 CHICK-FIL-A locations sold more than 35,000 cookies in approximately 1 month to raise funds for the Frances Foundation’s pediatric cancer children and their families. PLEASE join us in thanking our awesome & generous friends at CHICK-FIL-A who truly care about our community. “

“I hope everyone is well rested and dry from our early morning yesterday. I want to thank everyone again for coming out in the cold and rain to help run this station.
Because of all of your hard work the race makes a nice donation to The Frances Foundation. We could not have done it without the help of each and every one of you. If anyone has pictures I would love if you could send them to me.
I hope all of you had fun despite the bad weather and we hope to see you again next year.
With love,
Angela”

Jake "the tank" Honig

Jake’s parents want to CELEBRATE JAKE’S LIFE in as positive and uplifting way as possible.

Please see the following Facebook post by Jake’s parents Mike & Janet.

“Jake is still making a difference in people's lives. He is currently at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, he donated his spine and brain so that researchers can study his tumor type. With only a handful of cases like Jake worldwide, every opportunity to learn, could save future lives. We are happy that Jake's spine and brain will make a powerful difference in the world of pediatric oncology.

We look forward to celebrating Jake's life with all of you!

Details:

Viewing: Thursday 3pm - 7pm

Service: Friday 11am

Both days take place at Clayton Funeral Home in Freehold.

Please visit: Claytonfuneralhome.com

We want to make this how Jake would want it.

We ask that you sport Golden State Warriors Apparel and/or Colors! Feel free to get creative, wear hats, tie, scarves, t-shirts, sweaters.. ANYTHING Blue & Gold!!

Jake wouldn't want a "stuffy", black suit wearing somber event. Blue and Gold will be decorated throughout the place. NBA online store has Warrior stuff and overnight shipping, but if you have anything Blue/Gold that will do just fine. No Rules, be creative.

It may feel odd at first and non-traditional, but Jake's wish would definitely be more Casual & Warrior Colors!! We know damn well this will keep our Warrior smiling!!”

Please continue to keep our angel Jake, and all of our warriors & angels, and their families, in your thoughts and prayers.

Hugs, Bob

Last Frances Foundation Update in 2017

To All:

Yesterday’s 4th Annual Nick Vega Memorial Dodgeball Tournament was outstanding.

Please join me in thanking trustees Steve Bernhardt, Jess Kenny, & Lauren Pericone, and their families, & Paul & Edith Vega, for all of their efforts for a fun event that remembers our angel Nick and benefits all FF pediatric cancer families.

Thanks as well to the following FF trustees who either put together teams in the tournament and/or came out and supported this event: Team Gwennie including Lou & Angela Marra and family & friends, Suzie & Derrick Healy, Adam & Keia Rubman & family & friends, Mr. V (Liberato) & Team Vonage; Chris & Melissa Heugle & family & friends.

In the face of far too many tragic losses, in 2017 the FF did more than ever before in compassionately & personally delivering smiles, comfort & assistance to hurting children and their families.

Thank you for your heartfelt contributions to our mission.

Some of you may be familiar with this quote popularized by former college basketball coach & ESPN  analyst & cancer victim Jim Valvano that goes something like this :

“ THE LORD MUST HAVE LOVED ORDINARY PEOPLE BECAUSE HE MADE SO MANY OF US.  IN EVERY SINGLE DAY, IN EVERY SINGLE WALK OF LIFE, ORDINARY PEOPLE DO EXTRAORDINARY THINGS. ORDINARY PEOPLE ACCOMPLISH EXTRAORDINARY THINGS. “

I believe that to an extent this quote is both extraordinarily inspiring and also reflective of our FF efforts. To bring smiles and laughter to children and parents that are in the midst of the worst imaginable nightmare is extraordinary.

Let us continue to do our very best in 2018…………..it means everything to our pediatric cancer families.

Wishing a healthy & happy new year to all.

Hugs, Cheers, & Love, Bob

A HUGE Thank You at the end of 2017

As a result  of these tremendous community efforts, a substantial donation was made to the Frances Foundation to help us bring smiles and assistance to our pediatric cancer families.

I hope to see many of you at tomorrow’s 4th Annual Nick Vega Memorial Dodgeball Tournament ( see attached flyer) .

Wishing all a happy & healthy New Year !!
